There I was. At an estate sale.
Not an ordinary estate sale.
A super-fancy-wear-something-without-paint estate sale.
Everything was completely out of my price range.
Until I saw this.
$30 done and dusted!
In retrospect if I'd seen this sweet girl at an op shop
I might've thought $30 was a bit steep.
When in Rome...
Now she could strut right back into that
estate sale with pride if she wanted!
And I love the history this table tells.
Well worn. Well used. Well loved.
I sanded it back very lightly to keep the tale it wanted to tell.
For a one-step easy-as stain and seal --
Fusion's Antiquing Tough Coat Sealer is unbeatable.
I love the stuff.
It deepened the timber just enough
but still allowed the grain to show.
Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in Mustard Seed Yellow?
Yes, please!
Add equal amount Bonding Agent to
mixed paint to prevent chippiness.
The Mini-Whisk is my favourite milk-paint-mixing tool!
I keep it handy and mix as I go.
I used a MMSMP Natural Bristle Paint Brush for
a more authentic milk-painted look.
Happy Painting to me!
I thought and it took three coats.
The beauty of Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint,
you can apply one coat after another once it's dry!
Here's the second coat drying:
Fusion Metallic in Pale Gold did the job!
Not only to stencil the table top but also
as a glittery band around the table base.
And we've only got one left in stock!
I've used it countless times on countless projects and it just keeps going.
It also comes with a different location (Hawaii)
and the silhouette of coffee beans.
You can mix it up and use it as you like.
I went traditional,
moving the stencil downward to fill the space of the table.
Be sure to check out our full range of stencils and
don't forget a QUALITY stencil brush! It's worth every cent!
I prefer a quick coat of this delicious,
non-stinky, non-sticky, non-toxic clear wax before
coming along with MMSMP Antiquing Wax.
A good quality wax brush helps to get into
the tight spaces and spread the wax better.
I used our Madeline Wax Brush to make the job easier.
brings out the detail and gives the entire base further dimension.
And now I want a coffee!
