There's nothing better than a good colour-mixing sesh. But this is so amazing, they've invited us here in Australia to participate as well!
Run....RUN to your Fusion Paint people...and get mixing!!!
This made entrance into the contest a pretty easy start point. Then, it was just a matter of playing!
For the record, the GREATEST things can happen when you play with paint. Be unafraid, be bold, be adventurous. It's not like anything will go terribly wrong. With colour-mixing, the worst case scenario? An ugly muddy brown. In the meantime, have a little fun, right?
Here is one worksheet of about a gazillion showing the work using a variety of the 31 fabulous Fusion colours.
Once I got the colour right — not too red, not too pink — the name became obvious as well, Watermelon Crush. A sun-drenched red...the colour of summer. And the happiest fruit!
I gave the top of the piece a very light sand then brushed and rubbed Coal Black into the top for what I hoped would be a gorgeous contrast. This takes the colour from being too feminine or overly pretty —I like a rock-n-roll edge with my vintage!
Let's get to the good stuff!
Here's the formula for Watermelon Crush:
Fort York Red: 6T
Prairie Sunset: 1T
Picket Fence: 1/2T
And here's the end result.
I'd like to start with this photo. This is my eldest sister Vetta who was visiting from overseas. I've grown up admiring her amazing eye for colour and detail. I won't bore you with details, but having her around to style this piece and put her personal mark... Well, here it is...
or if you've never tried Fusion Mineral Paint before...
this is your chance!
Until 8 April 2016 we are having a FREE
