I do love my wingbacks, but frankly they needed a change. Or perhaps, I needed the change.
I was all set to paint the fabric (after finding out the cost of reupholstering!) but I slept on it and woke up with a new idea.
What if instead I painted the ball-and-claw feet? Would that be enough to give them a facelift? Would it be enough for me?! At least for awhile?
What I love about Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint is if I hated it, I could always re-stain them back to their original look. I decided to go for it...

My husband said "do the chippy look" but I wanted it to be solid to modernise the chairs a bit.

My dining room was already a mess from being painted, so I turned the chairs upside down on the table and painted and waxed them there...easy done!

There wasn't any major chippy happening, so the finish stayed mostly solid (and no...I didn't sneak in Bonding Agent to get my way!! he he).
Once waxed, a bit of MMS Antiquing Wax seemed the way to go...

Loving the finish and the new life given to these wingback chairs
Finished and back in place with their new pop-of-colour legs!
I've found that this interesting and unexpected pop-of-colour has restyled these wingback chairs enough that I love them again...a little bit of fun with the traditional and a whole lot of paint love from Miss Mustard Seed!
