I'm originally from Los Angeles and every so often I'm fortunate enough to make a trip back.
Although most of my time is spent catching up with family and friends, many of us share a passion for vintage, homewares and interior design, so we typically have a list of old favourite shops as well as new spots to visit together. We also try to fit in a bit of DIY which will come soon, so be sure to watch this space!
My trip began with a 5-hour drive up the California coast to spend time with friends holidaying at the beach.
I was quick to hop onto our network of retailers to see who I could find...
Seashells & Sawdust — Morro Bay, California
the warm and enthusiastic shop owner Shannon
whose passion for her work is evident!
With two locations I was fortunate to catch her at
Seashells and Sawdust
in the beautiful coastal town of Morro Bay.
I couldn't wait to snap some photos
of her gorgeous shop filled with unique items
and skillfully painted furniture.
Every item is beautifully curated and displayed.
How can you NOT buy something?!
Boho Upcycle — Atwater Village, California
where my gorgeous and talented friend Krissy
has her oh-so funky shop,
for quite some time,
so to see her shop and give her a hug in real life
was long overdue.
And of course, her eye for colour and
bohemian, vintage style did not disappoint!
Krissy masterfully creates and combines colours
and is an incredible upholsterer as well.
Her sweetness and humour infuse
the shop making it a welcoming place to linger and be inspired.
And buy a few fun little bits while you're at it!
Knot Too Shabby — Glendora, California
was a drive into the foothills east of Los Angeles
to the wonderfully historic
Downtown Glendora Village to visit the shop
Knot Too Shabby.
and offers loads of inspiration as well as gorgeous gift ideas.
A perfect little town to stroll around
and grab coffee or lunch.
We named our ventures Sisterhood Of the Travelling Paint Pants — and the name stuck!
Isn't it lovely to be in an industry made up of kindred spirits?
