Here's how it all started...
These vintage beauties were ready-and-waiting to be painted in diverse shades of Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint before being used to line the walls behind the DIY Paint Bar.
The colours are so delicious they cannot help but inspire!
Next up are these maddeningly "vintage" (perhaps in this case I should just call them OLD??) timber horses found on the side of the road.
Wobbly and well-worn, just how I like them!
All that variation and history makes me weak-in-the-knees!
I used Old World Paint in Turquoise Sea to stain before finishing with Fusion's Tough Coat Sealer you could also use Old World Aqua Sealer.
Here's a quick little work-in-progress video showing how easy it is to stain using Old World Clay & Chalk Paint (or any of our natural paints!):
The piece de resistance was our awesome custom-made sign . . .
No priming, no prep needed, one coat with an artist brush to get into the tight corners.
Old World Paint dries and begins to harden quickly...this made it easy to start the next step...
We used our gorgeous patterned paint roller in wood grain with Lumiere Metallic Paint to create a subtle and shimmery timber effect on the sign.
While the patterned dried, I mixed a bit of metallic sparkle into Fusion Clear Glaze to give a final protective coat to the sign that had shimmer and movement!
Now...how fun is this?! A spot to play, explore and exercise the creative muscle we all have! Welcome to our DIY Paint Bar!
